Garage doors in St. Cloud

St. Cloud has an old center and a fast growing edge. The numbered streets and state named avenues of the downtown grid hold older homes, some with detached garages and single doors that need a careful look before a quote. Around that core, communities such as Stevens Plantation, Canoe Creek and Anthem Park date from the two thousands, with builder doors now at the age where springs and openers give out. North along Narcoossee Road and east toward Harmony, new homes are still being finished, and the common faults there are installation related: doors out of balance, sensors misaligned, fasteners working loose. St. Cloud is in Osceola County, so permits come from the City of St. Cloud or the county depending on the address.

What we do here

Repairs and installation in St. Cloud

01

Broken Spring Replacement

That bang from the garage was almost certainly a spring. We replace springs in matched pairs, sized to your door's true weight, balance the door by hand and test it before the opener goes back on. Most spring jobs run $200 to $500 installed.

02

Opener Repair and Lightning Damage

Central Florida's afternoon storms are hard on openers. A nearby strike can take out the logic board, the wall control or the safety sensors in one hit. We test the whole system and repair what failed, usually for $150 to $300. A new opener supplied and installed typically runs $350 to $650, and we can talk you through surge protection for it.

03

Cables and Rollers

A cable that has slipped off its drum leaves the door hanging at an angle. Worn rollers make it grind and shake. We replace cables as a pair, fit new rollers, check hinges and brackets, and make sure the door travels square.

04

Off Track Doors

A door bumped by a car or jammed on a failed roller can come out of its track. Do not run the opener. We secure the door, reseat it, straighten or replace bent track and check for hidden damage.

05

New Garage Doors

Orlando is inland, but a replacement door still needs a building permit, an inspection and a door with a Florida Product Approval rated for the design wind pressure at your address. Most communities here also want the design approved by the association first. We provide the product sheet and approval number, then install once it clears. On a job over $2,500 your contract includes the Florida construction lien law notice, and we go through it with you. Single doors typically run $700 to $2,000 installed, double doors $1,200 to $4,000.

06

Tune Up and Safety Check

Heat and daily use wear a door out quietly. We lubricate the springs and bearings, tighten hardware, check cables and rollers, test the auto reverse and reset opener force and travel. A tune up is usually $90 to $150.

Warning: do not try a spring, cable or torsion repair yourself.

Garage door springs are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury or death if handled without the correct tools and training. Nothing on this page is instruction to repair one. Send us a request and we will handle it. Full safety notice.

Questions

St. Cloud garage door questions

Do you cover Harmony and the homes off Narcoossee Road?
Yes. Both are on our regular routes. Tell us the community when you book.
Who issues the permit for a new garage door in St. Cloud?
The City of St. Cloud inside city limits, and Osceola County outside them. The door needs a Florida Product Approval for the design wind pressure at your address. We sort out which office applies.
Can you fix a door on a detached garage with no power?
Yes. A manual door still relies on springs, cables and rollers, and those can be repaired or replaced. If you want an opener added later, we can tell you what the garage needs first.
